Rainy Day Photo

Quick photo of the smooth panels installed the end of the house. They currently have the first coat of paint and the metal trim around them. A pretty gloomy and wet day but I am happy with how these panels are turning out.

I might as well Advertise!

It has been pretty busy at the house lately. The sheetrockers are busy mudding and tapng and should wrap things up in a week. Looks real nice, I will have to take some more interior pictures. We have also finalized colors and the painter will start on the outside on Friday. I am real happy with the choices. Hopefully it turns out as good as I imagine it :-) We have had some problems with the In Floor heating company. They are going out of business it appears. Never a good thing but it leaves us with an unfinished heating system plus we will probably lose some money in the process ;-( Unfortunatley I think this is something to watch out for even more so over the winter. It's a slow time for construction and many businesses are struggling already.
I have been working on putting together the next project for myself. Finalizing and updating my business name, logo and website. Stay tuned for all that. Here is a quick glimpse of the flyer that I put in front of our project. I seem to be getting plenty of interest so hopefully this could lead to additional work. Design, Project Management, Consulting.........Keep me in mind!!!

Sheetrocking is a Messy Business

Lots of dust, debris and just plain mess! But the sheetrock sure does make the spaces feel different........more like rooms! :-) Master Bedroom with a pile of scraps where the bed will go.
"The Boss" was onsite doing a project review. We checked out OK :-) Tif is standing in the Dining Room with the Living Room behind and the Office way in the background.

Kitchen Area

Mudding and Taping will start tomorrow. By next week we should be all cleaned up and looking good! :-)

Cool Technology! Plus Getting ready for Sheetrock

Here is a picture of the boiler and all the associated valves, tubing, pumps etc for the In-Floor Heating. Quite impressive!
The platform for the tub is in the background with a half wall in front, which will have glass above it. A glass door will be at the left opening. Plus the full height wall at the far right is where the Bathroom cabinets will start.

The two bedroom doors at the "existing" end of the house. It has been many, many months since you could see either bedroom since we were using both of them as storage rooms

The guys finished off the soffit at the Lower Patio. Looks great.

Tif's Chair + Other Stuff

The weather has really been cooperating to get some outdoor stuff finished!Rockeries at the side of the garage.....DONE. They look a little jumbled in the picture but are better in person!

T&G Siding at the Patio and Upper Deck......Done and looks stunning! (The plywood are temporary opening covers to help keep heat in during sheetrocking) Oh Yeah Tiffany's Chair. I found a flat rock and couldn't resist building it into the rockery by the retaining wall. This is on the way to the Mediation Room out by the mailboxes. Note the added bonus of a rock table just to the right! :-)

Cedar is Beautiful, So are Rocks!

Sounds like a case of an overly positive attititude! But......... I just love the T&G cedar going on the back of the house at the Patio and Upper Deck. It's going to stain up just....................beautifully :-)
We temporarily enclosed the Garage Door openings to keep heat in the house. This will be important during the sheetrocking to help dry out the mudding and taping process. Plus note the top of the rockery on the far right.

Here is the view from below. There will be a pad area outside the door at right and a middle rockery to break up the slope a bit more. The drive is at the top right. This is one of the trickier areas to figure out with the grades but I think it is coming together nicely.

Utilities are Good

Well as of last night the project is connected to Electricity, Gas, and Water. Dealing with the beauracracy of the Utility company was a hassle sometimes but in the end it all worked out as planned. This morning we should have the In-Floor heating working! :-) Just need to close in the big door openings so we can warm things up for the sheetrocking
