Busy, busy day but very productive...................plus I spent lots of $$ Pictures to follow, the house is starting to look complete on the outside!
Just a couple of better interior shots of the "garage doors" I need to come up with a better name for these two windows/doors. Suggestions are welcome :-) Yesterday was cool but sunny and they just flooded the space with light. I can't wait for the summer to roll them up, wide open to the deck! It has been over a year since we started this project and we are now on the important last leg of finishing the spaces. Very exciting and we are both looking forward to move back in to our newly remodeled home!
Left is the Living, Right is the Dining. Both open out to the deck.
From the back yard
A better picture of the Garage Doors. The wall is just primer and the finish color will be the left one, a light brown that contrasts the beams nicely.
Master Bath/Shower getting 16x16 slate tile installed. The tub and the shower floor will get the same slate also.
Second bathroom with the same slate tile but 8x16. The floor is the same stuff too.
The frosted glass garage doors are finally on! They really dress up the front. I can't wait to get it all painted up. Sorry for the dark photo it is getting dark around 4:30pm right now and they had just finished. Of note are the wall mounted super quiet garage door openers. Very nice.
Tomorrow they will install the two clear glass garage doors in the Living and Dining areas............you read that right! And yes, I will be able to open the Living room "garage door" with a remote from the couch!!! Check it out tomorrow! :-)
Here is a quick picture of the Kitchen cabinet getting installed. Turning out real nice!
Lots going on lately: 1. Of course cabinets are going in and we had to put down a smooth floor for the ktichen tile 2. Sheetrocking is getting completed in the garage 3. Tore out misc sheetrock around the tubs and showers so the slate tile backer board could go in today. The tile arrives tomorrow! 4. We had to adjust some outlets in the ktichen and adjust the gas line location 5. The main water line to the house sprung a leak in the Mechanical room! Luckily I caught it before much damage. Got it fixed quickly and just have some drywall to patch.
It was the end of the day so the light wasn't great but here are some exterior photos.Fascia Board & Panels
Fascia Board and Beams
Fascia Board and Board & Batten sample. The garage is closed off again because the sheetrock is all hung and they are mudding and taping tomorrow. Therefor we need to heat up the space.
We are extremely please with our new cabinets that got delivered yesterday! WOW! They look so nice, like fine wood furniture :-) The wood is called Jatoba, otherwise known as African Cherry. It just punches with color and grain. This is the end kitchen unit for the Oven and Microwave
This is the island main center piece, minus the toe kick base. The oven goes on the center of this, with another unit on each side to make an eight foot long island
This is the main counter section that goes against the wall. All full pull soft close drawers. Just look at the wood grain and color!
